eQ-3 AG

eQ-3 is one of the leading innovation and technology companies for home control and consumer electronics. With more than 200 different types of products, eQ-3 provides the largest product portfolio in the industry and has more than 18 million wireless devices in more than 600,000 households. This makes eQ-3 the European market leader in smart home technology based on the number of whole home solutions and electronic radiator thermostats installed.

Homematic is the leading smart home platform with more than 80 devices with open communication interfaces. The devices are marketed through retailers, online shops, local distributors, telecommunications companies and energy suppliers as well as private label or OEM versions. With MAX!, eQ-3 was the first provider of a customer-oriented heating solution that can be controlled via Internet and smartphone and offers a customised control for single rooms. In 2011, eQ-3 pioneered the use of IPv6 in an OEM customised smart home solution. Homematic IP, the next generation of Homematic, is an open platform based on the Internet standard IPv6 - the next generation of Internet protocol - and fully compatible with the devices of the Homematic family. Therefore, eQ-3 already offers a solution for the Internet of Things (IoT), which is based on the same standards as the Internet itself.

The products are designed and developed at the headquarters in Leer, Germany. Manufacturing takes place in the own production factory in South China that is certified to the quality standard ISO 9001, the environmental management standard ISO 14001, as well as standards for social responsibility. Furthermore, the factory is frequently inspected for certification by VDE, VdS and TÜV Rheinland LGA. The ELV/eQ-3 group has been family owned since its foundation. In 2007 the eQ-3 group was spun-off from ELV Elektronik AG, which was established in 1978. Further information: www.eQ-3.de, www.HomeMatic.com, www.homematic-ip.com.
